Although not a fair comparison, the Hoover self propelled vacuum cleaner is a different excuse the term, "animal" than the products from the Dyson company. This is a good example of the consumer needing to know what they want in a vacuum cleaner before selecting the style model make or brand.
Both machines are heavy. While the Hoover sideways is self propelled, it's a bear if you need to carry it up and down stairs. The Dyson bagless designed vacuums are also heavy and are more compact and easier to carry around when needed. Neither unit would win my vote for easy or moving if I have to carry the darn things however.
Area or loose rugs are always a problem for vacuum cleaners and the sideways is no different. Thing is though that this vacuum cleaner has the sideways feature that can be used.

All in all, the hoover self propelled vacuum sideways has some nifty features and if vacuuming is really getting to be to difficult, the self propelling feature is nice.
