See, the problem? The above sentence offered you an opinion about the machine but didn't really give your any information did it? When looking at reviews for any products including the d2 reaction vacuum, it's important to realize there are a number of features that may or may not be in a product that someone may think are absolutely critical for the product to be of any value.

Here's part of a review I found about the reaction. The Dirt Devil reaction vacuum cleaner can clean dirt from both carpet and hard surfaces like hardwood flooring and vinyl. Problem is that the button to change from hard surfaces to carpets is on the vacuum head and doesn't work well. It's a piece of garbage and causes me noting but problems. Don't get a reaction upright vacuum, it's just not worth the hassle.

So I ask you, is this important enough for me to mark the dirt devil off my short list of affordable vacuum cleaners?

My answer, at least for my uses is definitely not. I don't use a vacuum cleaner to clean my hardwood floors so I don't care if this is a problem or not.

The reaction and d2 reaction are extremely light and easy to use. Unlike many of the much more expensive vacuums, the reaction upright is a breeze to use and maneuver.

The reaction upright features a detachable wand to make quick work of the dirt in corners and when doing stairs and furniture. It's ready to use hose is also onboard and stretches about 10 feet, which is more than enough for my needs.

Bagless Design with Dual Cyclonic action means constant suction. Add the included HEPA filtration and the reaction vacuum cleaner is a clean machine.

32 Foot Power Cord is included in the total price. I consider cord length a big deal because I hate to keep moving outlets to clean a room or two. Longer cord means faster vacuuming equals more time to goof off.

Included power brush tool: A rotating brush to pick up pet hair and dirt from furniture and stairs and tight areas. Add it to the crevice tool and you have all the accessories most people use.

The dirt devil reaction upright vacuum cleaner prices depend on the store purchased and sale prices available at the time. The Reaction and D2 are both aggressively prices and are a good value for the money though they won't be as heavy duty built as many of the more expensive modelslike the Dyson vacuum line. The Dirt Devil Reaction can be found in many local stores and online for under 200 dollars.

A few things I personally didn't like about the reaction models included the overall power of the unit. I have a bunch of kids and a very active household. I don't want to push and pull a vacuum several times over the carpet to get all the dirt. It doesn't do a good job on regular dust and dirt however.

I mentioned before that the Dirt Devil doesn't seem built for use and abuse of a family. The plastic casing and design also make for a more noisier machine. Still, for many, this is a great vacuum cleaner for the money.

So in the end, I bought the dirt devil reaction upright vacuum for a friend who was getting married. It's a perfect, lightweight vacuum that the couple can use at their apartment without a problem. They've used it for several months and actually have mentioned how much they like vacuum, especially how light it is to use.
